Two weeks left ’til we have our own apartment

November 5, 2012

I can’t believe how time is flying, only two weeks left until we move to Liljeholmen, to an apartment all by ourselves.
I’m a little late with this update, but I don’t really feel any guilt over it, because I’ve written quite a lot this last week and it feels only right that I can take a small break as well.

I spent a lot of time last week trying to find out when and where the Lumia 920 will be released, and it looks like they’re aiming for the second part of November, which is a real shame. But I guess if I’ve waited this long, I might as well stick out this last weeks too.

Matilda, one of Paulinas closest friends visited us during the weekend, and we all the decied to go to the Movies, SF Filmstaden to be precise, which is at Medborgarplatsen, the center, or heart of Södermalm. It’s a really nice cinema and the movie, Ted, was actually really good, so if you’ve got a few hours over one day and feel like watching a movie, I really recommend it.

After the movie we headed out for a beer, we went to the skybar in Skrapan, which is one of the tallest buildings in Stockholm, standing 81 meters high, with the skybar at the top. The view was spectacular, but the bar, as can be expected, was almost filled to the brim. I tried to take a few shots with my phone camera, but it was too dark to actually get anything on the image.

I’ve spent the Sunday mostly coding, trying to make a face lift to this site. This is something I’ve wanted to do for quite a long time now, but I haven’t really come up with an idea that is still semi-original (as in website) but still looks and functions good. My current theme, MetroMaze feels a tad too much of a carbon copy of the Xbox theme (Which in all honesty is good, because that was what I was aiming for). So I’ve set a few goals for my new look, I want to try and improve readability and lighten up the page as well as make it responsive for more devices.

At first I tried to ditch the tiles that are on the front page as well as the ones on the subpages. But I decided that I like them too much to get rid of them, so instead of a complete redesign, these preview screenshots will most like only look like a minor face lift to the current page. The new theme (That I haven’t yet given a name to) is almost complete already, but it doesn’t really feel right. So I’m on the verge of just throwing it all out and start from scratch again. (Sigh)

EMC Forum 2012

Finally got my confirmation-mail that I’ll be attending the EMC forum 2012 in Stockholm. Not only I’m I interested in all the nice corporate and big-data stuff for display. I’m also very excited because this will be the first conference in Stockholm that I’ll attend.
