Aurora borealis

January 25, 2012

As I mentioned on twitter yesterday, I was out in Björkö (Replot) in Svedjehamn trying to get a glimpse of the rumoured northern lights that would result from the solar storms.

I headed out with almost all my gear, my Canon 1000D with its kit lens and my 60D with my Samyang 8mm, Canon EF 50mm and Tamron 70-300mm.

On site I chose to only use my 8mm. The first thing I did was setup my 1000D for some timelapse shooting, I really didn’t take enough time for the composition because I was too eager to start shooting with my fisheye.

All in all we were out for aprox. 2-3 hours in -16°C, when we finally chose to go home I almost couldn’t feel my feet. I’m not really that happy over any of the pictures, but I loved being outdoors!
